    Atlas first helicopter was the Alpha XH-1, a model originally derivate of the Alouette III used by the South African Air Force for several years.
    The SAAF ordered 12 Rooivalk AH-2As , the first of which entered service in July 1999. The helicopters form part of No 16 Squadron.
    Final delivery is scheduled in mid-2003.

    Vertical Takeoff and Landing Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV)
    In February 2000 the U.S. Navy awarded a $93.7 million contract for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phas of the VTUAV program. The contract included options for three low rate initial production (LRIP) systems. The plan was to procure three LRIP systems: one system for Marine Corps testing ahsore; one system for Navy shipboard testing; and one system for training. The LRIP 1 system, a Marine corps configured system, will be used to conduct the USMC operational evaluation (OPEVAL).
