1986	CH-46D	2197	152575 : Confirmed: Pallets of milk were weighed in kilos but crew thought it was lbs. Aircraft was over weight when attempting to land aboard the America. I personally talked to the crew following the accident as I was in their sister squadron, HC-6 and deployed to the “Med” at the same time.

1986	CH-46F	2486	155317 : HMM-268, 11 MAG; It was on a routine night operation when it plunged into the sea about 10 miles southwest of Cubi Point Naval Air Station, Philippine Islands. Killed in the crash were 1st Lt. Michael Milnes of Ann Arbor, Mich., the co-pilot, and crew chief Cpl. Kenneth J. Badeaux Jr. of Baton Rouge, La. The pilot, Capt. Paul S. Desantis of Norwood, Mass., was picked up by rescuers and was hospitalized in stable condition. A 17-hour search of the area failed to locate either Milnes or Badeaux
