1969-1972 HMM-163 /YP-7, she wore the proud Evil Eyes of Yankee Papa 7. Cpl. Grinolds was her crew chief and supported me (156427 a VIP Bird) on several flights. Once at Barstow on an overnight flying the Commandant, he failed to chock the bird and it rolled off the grinder into a ditch. It was so foggy we had to use ropes tied onto us at each end to find her. Another time we were to pick up a VIP at the Fed building on Wilshire in LA and the Viet Nam protesters led by Hanoi Jame were there 156432 dusted them | |||
