on the east side of Powis road, which ran along the east side of DuPage airport, Chicago IL
This H-34A was not displayed inside airport but across the street. It was near the old Sunstream building, and they had a huge yard behind them with some other S-58 hulks, along with a lot of wrecked aircraft. I left DuPage Airport in Dec95 after working there for 14 years
Chicago Helicopters used the aircraft as a parts source for their fleet When they were finished with it it was purchased by Sunstream Aircraft in the early 1990s Sunstream was a salvage company. Apparently the aircraft was stored at the Kenosha Military Museum by June 2000 on behalf of Sunstream. By the time the Kenosha Military Museum moved south across the border in 2007 and became the Russell Military Museum they had bought it from the bankrupt Sunstream.
