“ This aircraft started it's US ARMY Life at Ft Campbell Ky. It was assigned to Dco 326 med BN and flew many Medevac missions as a member of the storied Eagle Dustoff Unit. In August 1988 505's sister bird 23504 crashed in Galinburg pigeon forge Tennessee during a refuel stop during a search and rescue mission. On may 16th 1989 505's other sister bird 506 crashed in Guatemala during a deployment with the Task Force Southern Eagle 3. On the first flight after 506's crash 505 was taken on a training flight and left Soto Cano Airbase and ascended to an altitude of 100 feet when both engines flamed out at the same time. The PIC was able to autorotate to the grass next to the runway. 505 1 year later was deployed to Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Shield/Storm and served proudly during that time. ”
