| 1984-12 | A KHRT | , I was an H-1 mechanic aboard this aircraft on deployment when a significant over torque occurred during the flight. Overtorque inspection revealed significant damage to the air frame specifically a 4" crack in the liftbeam. As the aircraft had landed on a remote airfield on a small island there was no local support for depot type repair. The aircraft had major components removed so as to fit in a C-130 and was towed across the island to a dirt runway that could support a C-130 and loaded and flown back to Hurlburt Field  | |
