| 1987-01-10 | w/o 10jan87 whilst with Coast Guard Cutter Rush (WHEC 723) crashed into the Pacific Ocean, 400 miles off the coast of Acapulco Mexico. All 4 crew members survived, but the craft sunk and was left on the ocean floor | ||

| I was the Copilot of 1442 when we lost the engine due to a stator van actuator failure and completed an autorotation to the Ocean. Although it never sank, the aircraft was destroyed by salt water immersion during salvage by the Navy. | |||
| I was assigned to CGAS Port Angeles at the time of the mishap. I participated in the salvage and later received the 8 day clock as well as the pilot and co-pilot seats. Converted the seats to bar stools and had the clock repaired. It sits on my desk and functions perfectly. Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles | |||
