From mid Jan to c mid Feb 2010, the base played a major role in Operation Unified Response, after the set up of the Haiti Flight Operations Control Center to coordinate air arrivals on the island, following the 12 Jan earthquake. This ensured that the USAF team of combat air controllers from 15th SOS and 817th CRG on the ground, could maximise the throughput of international aid arriving at Toussaint lOuverture International Airport.
