The Radar Research Flying Unit (RRFU) moved 40 of its wide variety of airframes for test and trials purposes here in Sep 1957, when RRE Defford was closed. For about 20 years, the site provided flying services for new or modified equipment and techniques coming from the RRE laboratories in Malvern. Pershore closed in Jun 1977, shortly after the RRFU had transferred its remaining 20 or so airframes to RAE Bedford.
