The Ka-226T is light multirole coaxial helicopter set up to seven people. Is powered by two 580 hp FADEC-equipped Turbomeca Arrius 2G1 engines. Developed in Medevac, Police and Search and Rescue variants, the Ka-226T completed certification in Russia on April 2015.
In 2019 was announced that Klimov-UEC (part of Rostec) begun development of the new VK-650V gas turbine turboshaft engine for the Ka-226T

04-Jan-21 - Russian Klimov company unveiled demonstrator of the new VK-650V 650hp turboshaft engine developed to replace the Safran Arrius 2 in use by the Ka-226T helicopter. Certification scheduled for 2024 and expected to be used also by Ansat-U and VTR-500 #engine
