an improved version of the ka-8, it had a 55-hp engine. a variant of it, the ka-10m introduced twin tails and rudders.

n August,30, 1949 first single-place helicopter Ka-10 made its first flight. It was the first flight for aircraft designed by Kamov Design Bureau established in 1948. Ka-10 has come to factory production in 1956 after government tests were finished. 10 aircraft of this model were built for Soviet Army. Ka-8 was using the 750ccm russian licenced BMW engine of a motrocycle !
