Model History:

sycamore
Type 171 Sycamore first flew 27 Jul 1947 against spec E.20/45 with a Wasp engine. A Mk.2 prototype (against spec E.34/46) flew with a Leonides 71 engine. In all, 178 built in 13 marks, 65 as HR.14 and 50 as the Mk.52 for export.

British Army used HC.10 and HC.11, RAF used HR.12, HR.13 and HR.14. RAN used HR.50 and HR.51. The Luftwaffe took delivery of the Mk.52.
