First two FMS airframes arrived in 1970 and assigned to then Grupo de Aviacion 5 (Busqueda y Rescate, SAR). A third brand new arrived in 1973. In 1998 further second hand aircraft were received including at least 5 unidentified as spare parts. In 2008 the Spanish Army transferred 4 more airframes.
