History of this Model in this Organisation:

C/n from 301 to 346. Multirole helicopter. The diffent version are : antitank, observation, rocket, gunship, medical evacuation...
The Belgian Army A109s are two derivatives of the military A109C, also known as the BA. The A109HO is primarily an observation version, the HA primarily an anti-tank attack version. The A109s mainly serve with 17 & 18 Battalions (approx 5 HOs and 14 HAs each) with the remaining 8 HOs with the SLV (Army Aviation School).
H46 was delivered as a pattern airframe, to form the basis of the remaining batch of 45 built by SABCA at Gosselies. Belgian A109s are powered by twin Allison 250-C20 engines.

    H16: Aircraft Dammaged by a storm in Petrovec (FYROM). Has been placed in atrition in Zuttendael.

    H19: 230500 17BnHATk Cat.4, during a training a formation of 4 A109 of 17BnHATK landed on the reserve base of Bertrix. During the taxiing H19 hit a row of pallets with jerrycans and flips over. Debris of the mainrotor hit the other 3 A109s (H23, H33 and H35).  A piece of 30 cm of H19s main rotor goes through the windshield of H35 at about 5 cm of the aircrew., while in another 'near miss' a jerrycan went through the legs of a marshaller. Luckily nobody or the aircrew or groundcrew got hurt. After some BDR H19 was ferried from Bertrix to Bierset, but it was a write off anyhow.

    H36: 180804 made an emergency landing in the afternoon on the military domain of Brasschaat (near Antwerp). During a training flight the aircraft was flying very low, a gust of wind brought it out of balance and the rotors hit the ground. The aircraft got seriously damaged. Nobody got hurt.
    H36: In reality, the blades hit a tank during a tactical flight....
