Metro Aviation, October 19, 2015 - Metro Aviation is excited to exhibit at the Air Medical Transport Conference October 19-21 in Long Beach, California.
The leader in helicopter completions and air medical operations is showcasing an EC145 from Memorial MedFlight, an aircraft completed by Metro in 2013 for its operations customer in South Bend, Indiana.
Metro will be spotlighting the Helicopter Flight Training Center and the additional learning capabilities added in 2015. The CommLab, a state-of-the-art simulator for communication specialists, was introduced in January and has made a significant difference for the communicators attending the two-day course. CommLab instructors will be onsite at Metro’s booth to answer questions about the course.
The training center added a Frasca Bell 407 Level 7 flight training device and preliminary validation activities are currently underway. The BH407 analog cockpit is capable of simulating normal and emergency operating conditions, allowing pilots to train for any situation. In addition, the EC135 Level D full motion simulator and AS350 Level 7 flight training device were recently certified by Transport Canada, allowing for more training opportunities for international customers. New training customers include Texas DPS and Massachusetts State Police, both contracted to utilize the AS350 and EC135 simulators.
Metro Aviation became the first North American customer for the EC145e when it contracted to purchase six helicopters and launched an extensive demo tour of the new lighter weight, lower cost version of the highly successful EC145. The EC145e is a single-pilot, VFR aircraft that retains the power, performance and reliability of the EC145 with a useful load of up to 300 pounds greater than the original.
Metro Aviation will welcome a new operations customer in November. Cooper University Health Care will join the Metro family as it introduces an air medical service for the first time with an EC135 T2+ to be completed by Metro Aviation. Many of Metro’s current operations customers are celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2015, including four air medical programs celebrating 30 years of service.
Metro invites attendees to its annual press event on Tuesday, October 20 at 11:30am on booth 815 to hear more about these announcements and other developments.
