South African company Ultimate Heli uses one AS350 helicopter for scientific research in Antarctica between December and April

We are proud to announce that we will be operating one Airbus helicopter AS350 during the summer season in Antarctica from December 2015 to April 2016.
The helicopter and crew departed from Cape Town harbor on a scientific research vessel in late December 2015 and are expected back in Cape Town in mid April 2016.
The helicopter is being used by scientists to collect valuable scientific information around the Northern and Eastern Antarctica mainland.
Shaun Roseveare CEO of Ultimate Heli said: “We are an extensive operator of Airbus Helicopter AS350 and AS355’s. This is our second season in Antarctica and we operated over 70 hours in January. These operational hours are broken up into over 600 passengers moved and a total of 320 individual under-slung flights with a total of over 1’600 Kgs under-slung cargo carried”.
