Airbus Helicopters, March 03, 2015 - ORLANDO, Fla. – Airbus Helicopters Inc. has delivered a new AS350 B3e AStar to Coastal Helicopters, LLC, based in Van Nuys, Calif. The aircraft replaces the company’s previously owned AS350 B2.
Coastal Helicopters ordered the new AS350 B3e, the most versatile light single engine helicopter on the market, in December and took delivery of the aircraft on February 25. The company plans to use the aircraft to pursue firefighting contracts with the U.S. Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Cal Fire, as well as for charter and utility work. The new AStar will be the first new AS350 B3e to be commercially operated in the Los Angeles basin area for a variety of missions, including fire, utility, production work and executive charters.
Metro Aviation of Shreveport, La. Has taken delivery of and will complete the aircraft with a utility configuration and a full glass cockpit including a Garmin G500H. The aircraft will be completed in time for the 2015 summer fire season.
