Avincis, March 04, 2013 - Avincis Group (Avincis), the world's leading provider of aerial services for mission critical operations, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian K├╝mmerlin as Regional CEO Latin America, with immediate effect.

Based in Santiago, Chile, Ian will be responsible for further developing Avincis' business in the region, which includes subsidiaries Inaer Chile and Inaer Peru who last year flew 3,650 hours of mission-critical services, including over 300 emergency medical missions and fighting 880 fires.

Ian joins Avincis from Farmacias Cruz Verde, the largest Pharmaceutical retailer in Chile where he was responsible for the company's 600-strong retail network. Prior to that he was Airports Director at LAN Airlines in Chile, Latin America's leading passenger and cargo transportation airline, where he managed a budget of $30 million and a 300-strong organisation. His experience includes working with the Pall Corporation in both Chile and Australia. Ian started his career in the Chilean Navy, where he was decorated twice by the President for outstanding achievements.

Avincis Group CEO James Drummond said: "I am delighted that Ian will be joining our global team. Every day, lives and livelihoods depend on the services we provide. Ian's experience and expertise will allow us to continue to grow our Latin American business whilst remaining focused on our goal of zero accidents."

Ian K├╝mmerlin said: "My focus will be on helping to build a strong leadership team and the robust operating platform that will allow both Inaer and Avincis to fulfil its potential to become a leader player in the region."

Headquartered in the UK, the Avincis Group provides central resources, global standards and systems and expertise to its 13 local operating companies who operate a fleet of around 350 aircraft. Last year the group flew over 108,500 hours, conducted over 50,600 emergency health care missions, rescued more than 8,600 people at sea or on mountains, helped to put out over 7,800 fires and carried more than 175,900 passengers in the oil and gas industries.
