AgustaWestland, June 22, 2011 - AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is pleased to announce that Exclases Holdings Ltd. has signed a contract for eight AW139 medium twin helicopters. These aircraft add to the two units ordered in May this year and more AW139s are expected to be ordered in the near future. This latest contract brings the total number of AW139s sold in Russia and the CIS countries to more than twenty in the last two years, adding a number of new nations and operators to the long list of customers which have made the AW139 the best selling helicopter worldwide in its category.

We foresee significant further opportunities for the AW139 in the Russian market.” Over 30 new generation helicopters from the AgustaWestland commercial product range have already been sold in Russia and the company sees further business opportunities in the country across its product range for a number of roles including corporate transport, emergency medical services, search and rescue and offshore transport.
The AW139, thanks to its outstanding features, has been identified and selected by Russian industry as the benchmark helicopter in the light medium weight category to meet a wide range of demanding civil requirements. A final assembly line in Russia for the AW139 civil helicopter is being set up to be run by the now established HeliVert, a Russian Helicopters and AgustaWestland joint venture. The final assembly line is aimed at satisfying the requirements of the civil markets in Russia and CIS countries. Thanks to its unparalleled features and capabilities, the AW139 is perfectly suited not only for VIP/corporate transport purposes in Russia but also to meet stringent and evolving requirements from major operators and in the parapublic market. Over 140 customers from more than 50 countries have ordered over 540 helicopters to perform a wide range of roles including VIP/corporate transport, offshore transport, emergency medical service, search and rescue, passenger shuttle services, fire fighting, border security and law enforcement duties.
