AgustaWestland and LOM Praha partnership would be firmly established in the event the AW139M is selected for the Czech Ministry of Defence’s multipurpose helicopter requirement.

AgustaWestland, September 28, 2015 - AgustaWestland announced today the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LOM Praha s.p. of the Czech Republic.

Under the MoU the partners are paving the way for cooperation in the field of helicopter maintenance, training, servicing and support, as well as the designing and manufacturing of helicopter kits.

The partnership would be firmly established in the event Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland’s solution for the Czech Ministry of Defence’s multipurpose helicopter requirement is selected. AgustaWestland is offering the AW139M multi-role military helicopter.

A state-owned company with experience in maintenance, training, repair, overhaul and modernization of aircraft and helicopters, as well as training solutions for NATO and an established service supplier to the Czech Ministry of Defence, LOM Praha would strongly benefit from industrial cooperation with Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland.

This partnership, together with Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland’s commitment to pursue further industrial collaboration opportunities in the Czech Republic, will enable outstanding long term support and training capabilities to be delivered to the Czech Armed Forces.

The AW139 is the world’s bestselling aircraft in its category with almost 920 orders from approximately 230 customers in nearly 70 nations. Over 770 helicopters are already in service covering the widest scope of military and government missions.

Armed Forces in Italy, Qatar, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta and Thailand, to name a few, are using military-configured AW139s in a range of demanding environmental and operational conditions.

A / Class 1 performance and a Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS). Ease of access to all the aircraft’s main systems ensures efficient maintenance and high availability. The AW139M is perfectly suited to carry out a number of missions including troop transport, cargo transport, utility, special forces operations, SAR/CSAR, close support, MEDEVAC/CASEVAC, patrol, law enforcement, homeland security and Head of State/Government transport.
