Thommen Digital Air Data Computers and Chronometers Selected For AgustaWestland AW189

Thommen, February 05, 2014 - Waldenburg, Switzerland – Revue Thommen AG announces the selection of their digital air data computers type AC32 and digital chronometers type CM20 – both in dual installation - for the serial production of AgustaWestland’s state-of-the-art 8-tons-class multirole helicopter AW189.

AgustaWestland, a Finmeccanica company, is a leading helicopter design and manufacturing company and aims to sell the AW189 for missions also including offshore helicopter support, search and rescue and passenger transport roles.

Ralf Kaiser, Revue Thommen’s CMO, said: “We highly appreciate this decision which is a further step of our close and long-lasting cooperation with AgustaWestland. Moreover it shows evidentially that the flexible design of our digital air data computers meets latest market requirements for functionality, environmental qualification and certification.” and continues: “The new chronometer CM20 complements our current scope of mechanical and quartz-chronographs and strengthens our position as one of the worldwide most important suppliers of aviation clocks.”

Revue Thommen AG, based in Waldenburg, Switzerland, is an important manufacturer of aircraft equipment, as customized barometric instruments, air data computers and searchlights and worldwide leading supplier of mechanical aircraft chronographs. Thommen is ISO 9001:2008, EASA Part 21 and EASA Part 145 certified.
