Bucher, June 09, 2016 - DRF Luftrettung trusts rescue equipment from Bucher Leichtbau. After the successful commissioning of the first five H145 helicopters with HEMS equipment from Bucher, DRF Luftrettung has now placed an order for two more AC70 HEMS kits.

The innovative equipment has been designed and developed in close cooperation with users. The ergonomic and flexible design of the equipment is very popular in the market.

Now DRF Luftrettung has also decided on the HEMS equipment from Bucher for the new H135 . For these new helicopters, the Filderstadt-based air rescue organization has opted for the modular AC67 HEMS kit. This is a change of system for the company, which operates over 50 helicopters, including 17 EC135.

In comparison to the HEMS equipment previously used in the EC135, the new AC67 HEMS kit can be adapted to various missions in a much more flexible way: Modification and handling are more ergonomically designed. Important features such as rear and side loading are retained, and in addition the new equipment offers more space for the installation of medical equipment.

Dr. Hans Jörg Eyrich, Chairman of DRF Luftrettung commented: “The evaluation of our call for tender for HEMS equipment for the H135 was based on four criteria: quality, performance, adherence to deadlines and price. Bucher Leichtbau AG’s bid impressed us in all these areas. The customer support and after-sale service provided by the Swiss company deserves special mention. Bucher Leichtbau is well aware of our requirements as a 365/24-hour HEMS operator and is a reliable partner for implementing individual modifications in order to optimize HEMS equipment to fit our mission profiles. From offshore operations to mountain rescue, from attending emergencies on the motorway to transporting high-risk patients between clinics, our helicopters fly more than 38,000 missions every year from 31 HEMS-bases.”

The confidence placed in Bucher by this reference customer further underscores the success of Bucher’s customer-centric focus and commitment.
