Eagle Copters, June 01, 2015 - Less than two years after establishing its base at Coffs Harbour, Eagle Copters Australasia is proud to officially open its new maintenance facility, expanding its operation to service increasing demand, from scheduled servicing to complete refurbishment including paint, customisation and complex avionics installations.

ECA Managing Director Grant Boyter said the new facility, which includes two hangars, and the existing 375 square metre hangar, has increased the capacity to meetour lease fleet expansion plans as well as our customers, relative ongoing maintenance support requirements.

Mr Boyter said with the delivery of a specially designed structural fixture later this year, the facility will also be set up for conversions of the new Eagle 407HP aircraft, which recently received certification.

Grant said ECA’s location at Coffs Harbour, midway between Sydney and Brisbane, is also a great benefit as it is well situated to service clients throughout Australia.

“In addition, three airlines fly into Coffs Harbour Airport and, being on the Pacific Highway, we are well serviced by freight companies,” Grant said.

“It’s only been almost two years since we established Eagle Copters Australasia at Coffs Harbour and already the company has grown exponentially.” “There is also room for further expansion in the future that would double our capacity,” he said.

“Combining the talents of Australian company, Aero Assist, with the experience of one of the international leaders in the helicopter industry, Eagle Copters Ltd in late 2013, Eagle Copters Australasia began with just four full time staff. We now have 18 people in our team

“Our partnership with Eagle Copters Ltdhas combined our depth of experience working throughout Australia and overseas with the backing of one of the best-known international brands”.

Grant said the company has a fleet of medium and large helicopters under lease throughout Australia, and Indonesia. Our fleet includes aircraft working in emergency services, and the mining and fire fighting industries.

Grant and business partner, Rohan Schallmeiner, both maintenance engineers, each have more than 30 years’ experience within the helicopter industry. They have worked around the globe, including Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Europe and the Middle East, in all facets of helicopter maintenance and have built up an extensive network within the aviation industry.

The international company, Eagle Copters Ltd, also privately owned, has been offering leasing, sales, completions, maintenance, repair and overhaul, support and product development since 1975. Its headquarters is located at an extensive facility at Canada’s Calgary International Airport.

In Australia for the official opening, Eagle Copters Ltd CEO Mike O’Reilly said Eagle Copters Ltd were proud and excited to be working with Grant and the Eagle Copters Australasia team.

“Already we are achieving our combined goal to provide innovative solutions in sales, leasing, and MRO to the regional industry for existing and future customers.” Mr O’Reilly said.
