Metro Aviation to showcase new air medical EC145 during Heli-Expo


Metro Aviation, March 04, 2013 - With the helicopter world soon to descend on Las Vegas, Nev. for Helicopter Association International’s Heli-Expo 2013, Metro Aviation has announced that it will showcase a recently completed Eurocopter EC145 as part of the company's exhibit during the event.

The featured aircraft is based in Cincinnati, Ohio at the University of Cincinnati (UC) Health Air Care and Mobile Care air medical program, and is operated by Metro Aviation. The EC145 is equipped with the Metro Aviation Single Pilot Instrument Flight Rules Supplemental Type Certificate. including color radar, satellite radar, helicopter terrain awareness and warning system (HTAWS), and traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS), as well as a cabin area that features the latest generation of medical technology and equipment for comprehensive patient care.

Additional safety features include a cockpit and cabin that is compatible under night vision goggles, as well as satellite tracking capability and North Flight Data System's Light Aircraft Recording System (LARS).

Metro Aviation performed the extensive completion of the new EC145 at its main facility located in Shreveport, La. As equipped, the aircraft meets all the proposed United States Federal Aviation Administration helicopter emergency medical services guidelines. Metro Aviation is a global provider of helicopter completions and has recently received approval to perform work on Brazilian aircraft under the Agencia Nacional de Aviação (ANAC) authorization.

The UC Air Care & Mobile Care program has provided specialized medical transport services for patients in the Greater Cincinnati area for over 25 years. UC Air Care is also accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Services (CAMTS) in all four levels of medical transport.

Metro Aviation will be exhibiting on booth C3511 during the Heli-Expo and will hold a press event on Tuesday, March 5 at 2 p.m. to announce several new achievements at the company.
