Wiking, September 29, 2017 - Wiking Helikopter Service has been awarded a contract by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy to provide helicopter services for the Galloper offshore wind farm.
Wiking will transport and hoist the service technicians of Siemens to and from the offshore wind farm.
The 336 MW Galloper offshore wind farm is located 30 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk, UK and consists of 56 turbines.
Operations will initially be conducted from the base at Great Oakley Aerodrome until the new base in Harwich Harbour is finished.
The company will support this project with their Airbus H145 helicopter, acquired in early 2017.
The crew will consist of two pilots and one hoist operator.
The contract is the first long term heli hoist service contract for Wiking in the UK.
