Ecuadorian Army Receives Helibras AS350B3e / H125
Airbus Helicopters, January 25, 2018 - Last Monday, Airbus Helicopters delivered a H125 to the Ministry of Defense and the Ecuadorian Land Force.

It is the first helicopter of a contract for two units signed in November of last year and which also includes the training of 12 mechanics and 6 pilots. The second helicopter will be delivered in the spring of 2018. Both will be put into service by the Ecuadorian Army Aviation Brigade.

The delivery took place in the 15th Army Army Brigade (BAE) in Quito, during the 64th Anniversary ceremony of the Ecuadorian Army Aviation and in the presence of the Minister of Defense, the Commanders of the three Armed Forces and the Ambassador of France in Ecuador.

"With the delivery of this first H125, we take another step in the modernization of the aviation fleet", said Colonel Santiago Almeida, Chief of the Army Aviation Brigade. "It is important that the Army of Ecuador reinforce its operational capabilities with high-tech aircraft capable of responding to the most demanding needs of the country."

The new helicopters will be operated by the Army Aviation from their base in Portoviejo and will be used for transport missions, aerial surveillance and support to the population in cases of natural disasters.

"I want to thank the Armed Forces of Ecuador for the trust placed in our brand during the last 40 years", said Francisco Navarro, General Director of Airbus Helicopters in Mexico.

"Our helicopters and -particularly the H125 that we are delivering today, but also the H145 and the H215, fully respond to the operational needs of the Ecuadorian Armed Forces, being able to operate in extreme conditions of heat and height. It would be an honor for our company to be considered in the context of upcoming acquisitions of the Ecuadorian Government.

The Army of Ecuador was one of the first armies in Latin America to operate Airbus helicopters. Among the helicopters of the brand that today make up 80% of its fleet are light helicopters of the Ecureuil family and also heavy twin-engined Super Puma.

In Ecuador there are currently some 40 Airbus helicopters in operation with civil and military clients.
