Second H145 Delivered to Wiking Helikopter

Wiking helicopter from Germany received its second EC145T2/H145 that will be used to fulfil the Galloper Windfarm contract for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Ltd based at Great Oakley Aerodrome, UK





Wiking, October 26, 2017 - Sande - WIKING Helikopter Service GmbH taken over the second Airbus Helicopters H145.

One year ago Wiking started the Helicopter fleet renewal with the first H145 “Alpha Echo”.

Since that time, the Airbus Helicopters H145 shown her reliability and her operational readiness in several Sea Pilot operations in the harsh North Sea environment.

The crews are very pleased with this brand new generation of offshore Helicopter. Wiking’s second H145 will be applied to fulfil a contract providing helicopter services to the Galloper Windfarm for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Ltd.

The Galloper Windfarm is a 336 MW Project 30 kilometres off the coast of Suffolk. The main service will be Hoist operation of service technicians to the wind turbines on site and the trouble shooting The contract is the first long term Heli Hoist Service contract for WIKING in UK.

During the service for 56 wind turbines WIKING will transport and hoist the technicians of Siemens. Operations will conducted initially from the base at Great Oakley Aerodrome until the new base in Harwich Harbour will established. The company will support this project with the new Airbus H145 helicopter, which has been put into WIKING`s operation early 2017. The crew will consist of two pilots and one hoist operator to comply with Siemens high safety standard.

Since mid-2012, WIKING been operating a HEMS helicopter as an emergency evacuation service for the offshore wind industry, which is on standby at the JadeWeserAirport 24/7. WIKING is serving the German Sea Pilot contract since July 2017 with the first H145. This helicopter will be flown by 2 pilots and is specifically designed and equipped for offshore hoist operations.
