Leonardo, February 19, 2017 - Leonardo is taking part in IDEX (stand n. 06-A03) and NAVDEX (stand n. B35) - two exhibitions that are amongst the most important defence and security events in the Gulf region – scheduled 19-23 February at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre in the United Arab Emirates, showcasing excellent security technologies on land, at sea and in the air.
In the naval domain, for the first time on display in the region, a scale model of a multi-role ship bridge is being exhibited, where visitors can learn about the company’s next generation sensor capabilities via virtual reality. Another feature of the exhibition is the innovative ‘naval cockpit’, which allows guests to experience the workings of a fully-integrated naval operations and combat system.
Leonardo is also highlighting technologies that the company is supplying for Italy’s new fleet of PPA (Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Ship) vessels including the KRONOS multi-functional AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar, on offer in its land and naval versions, and the 76/62 OTO AD (Above Deck), a naval gun that can be installed on even smaller vessels.
In the aeronautics field, Leonardo is highlighting the new M-345, a basic and advanced jet trainer aircraft also answering to multi-role requirements and the multi-mission MC-27J, the ideal solution for tactical transport operations and C3ISR (Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance).
Leonardo is presenting its range of helicopters for civil and military applications, including the AW101 helicopter in CSAR (Combat, Search and Rescue) configuration, the AW159 for naval operations and a full-scale mock-up of a VIP-configured cabin for the AW609 tiltrotor.
Leonardo is also presenting its state-of-the-art products in the field of avionics, cyber security and Space.
