Russian Support for South Korea KA-32 Engines

South Korea’s Civil Aviation Authority and Heli Korea visited Russian Helicopters Aviation Repair Plant No. 150 and extended a certificate for maintenance of Ka-32 helicopter engines.

Russian Helicopters, October 08, 2015 - Kaliningrad - Russian Helicopters, part of State Corporation Rostec, has welcomed a delegation from South Korea’s Civil Aviation Authority and Heli Korea to its Aviation Repair Plant No. 150.

Following the visit the South Korean side extended a certificate for maintenance of Ka-32 helicopter engines.

Russian Helicopters will therefore continue to provide maintenance of TV3-117 engines, VR-252 gearboxes, AI-9 power plants and on-board equipment for Ka-32 helicopters flown by South Korean operators.

Maintenance work will be client-certified in compliance with South Korean regulations.

The Ka-32 is a special designation medium transport helicopter with coaxial rotors, twin turboshaft engines and fixed landing gear. The Ka-32 is a commercial version of the Ka-27PS search-and-rescue helicopter developed by the Kamov Design Bureau. Since 1985 Ka-32 helicopters have been in serial production at the Kumertau Aviation Production Enterprise, a Russian Helicopters company.

Russian Helicopters, (part of State Corporation Rostec), is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia. Russian Helicopters was founded in 2007 and is headquartered in Moscow. The company comprises five helicopter production facilities, two design bureaus, a spare parts production and repair facility, as well as an aftersale service branch responsible for maintenance and repair in Russia and all over the world. Its helicopters are popular among Russian ministries and state authorities (Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Emergency Control Ministry), operators (Gazpromavia, UTair), major Russian corporations. In 2014 its IFRS revenues increased 22,8% to RUB 169,8 billion. Deliveries reached 271 helicopters.
