DXL, March 17, 2016 - Tukwila, Washington – United States based Defense Export & Logistics (DXL) announces its successful negotiation and finalization of a contract to supply the Thailand Department of Civil Aviation a helicopter Overhaul & Maintenance program.
The turn-key program will be implemented to perform the OEM-required 2,200 flight hour ‘total aircraft overhaul’ maintenance procedure to its fleet of Robinson R44 Raven Helicopters.
DXL has sub contracted Oxnard, California based Light Helicopter Depot, a Robinson factory authorized service center and FAA repair facility.
A long relationship between the Thai government and DXL revealed the need by the Civil Aviation Authority to find highly experienced and expert level Robinson Helicopter MRO capabilities to perform the extensive and mandatory airframe life-extending overhaul procedure to their helicopter fleet.
DXL took the opportunity to assist the Thai authorities by preparing a turn-key project management program. The program facilitates every detail of the overhaul process to include Light Helicopter Depot’s disassembly of each aircraft in Thailand along with crating and shipping the aircraft to/from Light Helicopter Depot facilities in California where the overhaul procedures will take place.
Upon completing a ship’s overhaul, the aircraft will then be disassembled, crated and shipped back to Thailand for final reassembly by Light Helicopter Depot personnel and returned to service.
Additionally, DXL will facilitate full legal compliance with all international import/export regulatory matters to the program.
