Sikorsky, November 13, 2007 - DUBAI, United Arab Emirates - Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. today announced that the Bahrain Defence Forces have purchased another Sikorsky helicopter, selecting the VVIP S-92® helicopter for use by the Royal Bahrain Air Force. Sikorsky is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

The purchase comes just a few months after the Kingdom of Bahrain signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance to procure nine Sikorsky UH-60M helicopters from the U.S. Army through the Foreign Military Sales process. With that sale, Bahrain became the international launch customer for the newest and most advanced BLACK HAWK helicopter.
The UH-60M is the next generation model of the BLACK HAWK helicopter and features new and upgraded technology that improves lift capability, engine power, protection and survivability.
BLACK HAWK helicopter derivatives today are serving 26 governments around the world in a diverse range of missions, from combat assault and peacekeeping to disaster relief and medical evacuation. Sikorsky also plans to introduce a BLACK HAWK helicopter model specifically for the international market, with production taking place in Mielec, Poland, and deliveries starting in 2010-2011.
The S-92 helicopter has established a leading position in the offshore oil - more - industry and fills a variety of other missions including search and rescue, VIP and head of state transport.
