Starlite nominated for Irish “Aircraft Operator of the Year”

Starlite, June 11, 2014 - Starlite Aviation has been nominated for the prestigious award of “Aircraft Operator of the Year” for the 2014 Irish Aviation Industry Awards. The awards celebrate excellence in the Aviation Industry, and are sponsored by the Irish Aviation Authority.

They aim to reward the most successful and innovative people, companies and projects in the industry. The “Aircraft Operator of the Year” award is open to any AOC holder who operate services into/out of/within the island of Ireland that, during the past 18 months, has made a significant contribution to the aviation industry. Starlite Aviation is the only helicopter operator to have been nominated for this award and joins highly successful fellow nominees such as; City Jet, Emirates and Etihad Airways.

Accountable Manager and Director, Alan O’Neill is delighted to see Starlite nominated for such a prestigious award. “2014 has been an extremely exciting year for Starlite Aviation and a period of phenomenal growth” explains Mr. O’Neill.

Starlite is the launch customer for the Airbus Helicopter Super Puma AS332 C1e. In March of this year Starlite took delivery of the very first C1e helicopter, which has been registered in Ireland and deployed to Kosovo for utility and medevac work as part of helicopter emergency support services by Starlite for the European Union Rule of Law mission.

A second helicopter, which Starlite is about to take delivery of, will be deployed to Mali in support of an EU training mission. Mr O’Neill said that “the investment would ensure that Starlite continued to be the company of choice for international relief programmes, as well as dedicated global helicopter work”. The awards will be presented at a gala evening on Tuesday 10th June. This night will welcome an audience of over 500 people which will include the crème de la crème of Irish Aviation industry.
