Lockheed Martin to maintain US Army helicopters

Lockheed Martin, June 25, 2013 - DALLAS – Lockheed Martin received an aircraft maintenance and logistics contract with an initial funding value of $5 million from the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., to provide field and sustainment-level maintenance for U.S. Army helicopters.

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will lead the Army’s Regional Aviation Sustainment Maintenance Central Operations at Fort Campbell, Ky., home of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment.

The contract includes repair, reset, modification and additional sustainment efforts required for the AH-64, UH-60, CH-47 and OH-58 aircraft. The initial contract funding provides for transition efforts and program management.

“We are honored to support the Army’s Aviation units at Fort Campbell, ensuring their aircraft are maintained to the highest standards and ready when they need them,” said June Shrewsbury, vice president of Technical Services at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control.

Lockheed Martin has extensive expertise in delivering responsive aviation logistics programs, including the U.S. Navy’s Tip-to-Tail contract to support its H-60 helicopter fleet, the U.S. Army’s Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensor effort for its Apache aircraft, and the U.S. Special Operations Forces Logistics Support contract. On these programs, Lockheed Martin has consistently met strict performance metrics in multiple areas.

Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is a 2012 recipient of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for performance excellence. The Malcolm Baldrige Award represents the highest honor that can be awarded to American companies for their achievements in leadership, strategic planning, customer relations, measurement, analysis, workforce excellence, operations and results.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs about 118,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services. The Corporation’s net sales for 2012 were $47.2 billion.
