VNH, December 02, 2016 - On December 2nd 2016, at Vungtau airport, Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH South) successfully performed cargo sling flights for lifting 3 pickup trucks for Sweatpants Media (SW), USA.
This is an advertising project of a new range pickup trucks of Toyota for a British television series on automobile (Top Gear).
SW required VNH South to provide 3 Mi-172 helicopters to lift 3 vehicles and 1 EC-155B1 helicopter for filming and photography.
VNH South had experience in cargo sling projects with a giant cup of coffee and a motorcycle sling flights before (in 2008). However, this mission is much more complicated and difficult because 3 Mi-172 are requested to lift 3 pickup trucks (2-2,5 tons each unit) and fly in formation along the coast of Vung Tau, then simultaneously drop down these vehicles at Vung Tau airport in the return trip.
This special task requires exact and well co-ordination among pilots, air traffic controllers and cameramen to comply with the screenplay.
The lifting flights were sucessfully performed as scheduled. SW highly appreciated VNH South’s professionalisim with very experienced and competent pilots.
This project once again demonstrates the capability of VNH South in diversifying helicopter services to satisfy the requirements of domestic and foreign clients.
