The 25 April 2015 Nepal earthquake killed more than 8,000 people and injured more than 19,000. 24 countries and many humanitarian organisations participated in the relief operations
3 British Chinooks from RAF 27 Squadron were sent in response to the disaster but stood idle in India for almost a fortnight before being recalled to the UK. The reason for this is not yet clear. In addition, C-130J Hercules from the RAF Brize Norton Wing operated between Kathmandu and Pokhara, distributing aid.

MV-22B Ospreys depart Nepal
21-May-15 - US Marine Corps MV-22B Ospreys from VMM-262 deployed in support of Operation Sahayogi Haat departed Nepal, May 21. They arrived May 4 and flew approximately 115 hours over the course of 75 missions.
Missing UH-1Y in Nepal
