Operation MANITOU



Under command of Joint Task Force 633 (JTF633), Operation MANITOU is the Australian Governments contribution to the international effort to promote maritime security, stability and prosperity in the Middle East Region (MER).

The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) routinely sends a frigate (MFU, Major Fleet Unit) to the MER for assignment to Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) which are comprised of 3 Combined Task Force (CTF) :
- CTF150 for maritime security and counter-terrorism
- CTF151 for counter-piracy
- CTF152 for Arabian Gulf security and cooperation
