mv Norman Atlantic Rescue

The MN Norman Atlantic, a ferry was chartered by ANEK Lines with 444 passengers and 55 crew on board, caught fire on December 28, 2014 in the Strait of Otranto, in the Adriatic Sea between the coasts of Albania and Italy. A major rescue effort led by the Italian Coast Guard was launched including helicopters and ships from many air and naval services of Italy and Greece. In total 28 lost their lives.
