Begun on 29 Jun 1947 over internal routes. Re-constituted in 1949 as TABSO with international, domestic and cargo routes using Russian types. Name chaned to Balkan Bulgarian in 1968. Helicopter services were operated by 1980 and it has provided these services to Malta Aircharter since 1997. Declared insolvent in 1999 but re-financed with significant Dutch investment.
