This organisation was setup by Gerry and Debbie Gouveia in 1990 as a charter and contract aircraft service. Their major client at the time was Golden Star, a Canadian Gold Mining Company which operated within the interior of Guyana.
Roraima Airways was contracted to transport personnel and equipment day and night to and from this location which was situated about 100 miles from the city of Georgetown.
Golden Star considered this service invaluable and exemplary. The company started as an airplane service only but quickly developed a helcopter department and a travel agency.
As Eco- Tourism developed in the country, Mr. Gouveia and his wife developed a site at Arrow Point, about 30 miles south west of Georgetown to accomodate this growing business. Later contracts were signed with International tour operators and a major hotelier. This resulted an upscale hotel being established at their plush home in the Capital Georgetown.
The company also operates an Airport Ground Handling Services at the Ceddie Jagan International Airport. The main office is located at Eping Ave, Belair Georgetown and Aviation Complex at Ogle Airport just five miles east of Georgetown.
