The Kazan Helicopter plant (KHP) was founded on September 4, 1940. Began production with the Mi-1 in 1951, continue with the Mi-4, the Mi-8 series and the Mi-24/35. As of 2019, more than 12000 helicopters have been built in Kazan, which have flown more than 50 million flight hours worldwide.
