01jan70 : activated as 39th ARRW at Richards-Gebaur AFB, MI and assigned to Military Airlift Command (MAC) with main missions of support SAC missiles sites and provide SAR in Vietnam. Subunits: ( Please not every ARRS had many Detachments )

Sep75 : 41 ARRS deactivated
Jan76 : 48 ARRS deactivated. The only two units still assigned by this time were 55 ARRS at Eglin AFB, and 67 ARRS at RAF Woodbridge, UK

Jan78 : 37 ARRS (where), 38 ARRS (Homestead AFB) and 40 ARRS (Holloman AFB) joined
Jan81 : 38 ARRS deactivated
Feb87 : 37 ARRS deactivated
Mar87 : 7 SOS Rhein-Main, Germany joined
Dec87 : 40 and 48 ARRS deactivated. At this time remain 7 SOS, 55 and 67 ARRS
Mar88 : 39th ARRW redesignated 39 SOW (Special Operations Wing)
