Essex Air Ambulance charity established in 1997.
In April 2007 the Essex Air Ambulance charity became known as the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT).
The Hertfordshire Air Ambulance was introduced on November 2008.
On 2011, Captain Nicky Smith became the UK’s first female Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) pilot when joined the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust
As of January 2020, flies AW169 G-HHEM and MD902 G-EHEM

The MD902 was retired in early 2024 and replaced by a new AW169, operating from its Earls Colne base.
