1942 to 1959    


Unit History:

First formed 13 Oct 1942 at Lahore and disbanded at Mingaladon on 15 Feb 1946. Reformed on 2 Feb 1953 at RAF Sembawang (WSAG) from the Far East Casevac Flight with the Dragonfly HC.2, becoming the RAF's first operational helicopter squadron. It sent a detatchment to Kuala Lumpur and the whole unit followed on 1 May 1953, where it received its first Sycamore HR.14s, which replaced the Dragonfly in Jun 1956. On 3 Jun 1959, it merged with 155 Squadron and both were renumbered into 110 Squadron.
