Formed 4 Jul 1960 at RAF Odiham to introduce the Belvedere into service but using pre-production models. A short lived unit, it disbanded on 15 Sep 1961, still at Odiham, to form the core of 66 Squadron, which was then equipping with full HC.1 production standard airframes, modified partly as a result of the findings of this unit.
