Recognising the growing importance of helicopters from the RAF in the tactical support role for the Army, the Helicopter Operational Conversion Flight was established at RAF Odiham. It formed on 1 Jul 1967 from the Wessex element of the Short Range Conversion Unit (SRCU) and served until May 1971 when it disbanded, to emerge as the Air Training Squadron.  |
