Spain Selects 45 NH90 Helicopters as First Batch for its Armed Forces

NHIndustries and its Partner Companies are very proud to report that the Spanish Government selected on the 20 May 2005 the NH90 helicopter for the modernisation of its Armed Forces: Spain will purchase a first batch of 45 NH90s.
The NH90 is the state-of-the-art twin engine, medium size helicopter developed in two versions dedicated to Tactical Transport and Naval roles.
The main characteristics of the NH90 are: full composite, crash resistant, corrosion free fuselage; full integration of avionic and aircraft systems; fly-by-wire flight control system.
NHIndustries is the company created by Agusta, Eurocopter, and StorkFokker for the NH90 Programme management. The NHIndustries responsibility covers the design, the development, the production, the marketing and sales, and the in service support for the NH90 all over the world.
Spain becomes the 10th European and the 13th world country that chooses the NH90 to equip its Armed Forces. This increases the NH90 backlog to 345 firm orders, 86 options, and more than 57 selected units, for an impressive total of more than 488 NH90s.
