Agreement to begin studies of a medium lift 8-9 metric ton helicopter
( designated NH-90 )
signed by 10 european countries,
including France represented by Aerospatiale.

Official launch of the Franco - German combat helicopter HAP / HAC
1988
With the acquisition of 36 Dauphins (later Panther AS 565K) and 36 Ecureuil (Fennec) AS 550 U2 helicopters
the Brazilian Army's helicopter unit is formed.
