An Ultra light helicopter

The Z-11 programme was officially approved in 1989 and the development began in 1992. The first flight of the Z-11 took place in Dec 1994. It was always said that the Z-11 was a reverse-engineered copy of the Eurocopter AS-350B Squirrel .

Vertical Takeoff and Landing Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (VTUAV) In February 2000 the U.S. Navy awarded a $93.7 million contract for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the VTUAV program. The contract included options for three low rate initial production (LRIP) systems. The plan was to procure three LRIP systems: one system for Marine Corps testing ahsore; one system for Navy shipboard testing; and one system for training. The LRIP 1 system, a Marine corps configured system, will be used to conduct the USMC operational evaluation (OPEVAL).
