1962-11 | Vertol Model 114, c/n B-003, ff: n/a YHC-1B 59-04984 was rolled out on unk date 1961 and immediately bailed to Vertol as a test bed redesignated YCH-47A Nov62 delivered to the US Army on 17Jan64 became the test bed for the production of B model Chinooks in 1967. The first flight as a B model test bed was completed on 09Sep66 incorporated Lycoming T55-L-7C engines rated at 2,850 shaft horsepower assigned to Fort Eustis, Virginia at unk date, where it was being utilized as a training device in the 67U maintenance course. As of 28Feb06, the last known location of 59-04984 was at Fort Eustis, Virginia, being prepared for restoration as a museum exhibit. Aircraft status: Under-going preservation. | ||
