One of six S-51s imported by Westlands for evaluation and to seed the Dragonfly programme. To UK Admiralty for trials.
1948-02 A Wolf Rock Re supply Feb 1948 detached to RNAS Culdrose to resupply the keepers on the Wolf Rock lighthouse.

1949-03ex G-AJHW. To RN for a short period in 1949 for 705Sqn during Jan and to begin deck landing trials on HMS Vengeance, whilst problems with the Dragonfly development were still being solved. Returned to Westlands, May 1949 as G-AJHW.

A80-374

australia Royal Australian Air Force

After more work as G-AJHW, including service with British European Airways and some Antarctic Survey flights, sold to Canada as CF-JTO. Believed this airframe became A80-374 with RAAF in May 1951. Served with 22 (City of Sydney) Sq 1961, became ground instructional airframe 1964. Help needed to confirm that CF-JTO and A80-374 are the same airframe.
1979-06 B YMPC Exhibit Preserved RAAF Museum, Point Cook by 1979, still there Mar 2008, still there Feb 2015.
